Consuming more local produce. Producing a tank of petrol requires a lot of water, so reducing the amount of miles you food has to cover from farm to plate will also help save. And your food will be fresher and more rich in vitamins too. Win-win!

Print on both sides of the paper

Halve your printed paper consumption by setting the default on your printing system to double sided. Scrap paper is also a great option to use when you're printing something unofficial, like university notes and readings.

    Use energy efficient electric appliances

They use two to 10 times less electricity for the same functionality and are mostly higher quality products that last longer than the less efficient ones. In short, efficient appliances save you lots of energy and money.

    Deep-Soak Your Lawn
When watering the lawn, do it long enough for the moisture to soak down to the roots where it will do the most good. A light sprinkling can evaporate quickly and tends to encourage shallow root systems. Put an empty tuna can on your lawn – when it’s full, you’ve watered about the right amount. Most lawns want about an inch of water per week, so note how much rain fell and add water accordingly. Visit our natural lawn carepage for more information.

Don’t Let the Faucet Run While You Clean Vegetables
Just rinse them in a stoppered sink or a pan of clean water. Use a dual-setting aerator.
